Animation explaining how to repair cracks in masonry using BrickFix crack stitching bar and BrickFix CE1 grout. Suitable for brick walls, block walls, and stone walls.
After chasing out a horizontal slot in the mortar bed, the CE Marked BrickFix 6mm diameter helical crack stitching bar manufactured from 304 austenitic stainless steel (316 available upon request) is embedded in the mortar bed using BrickFix CE1 Grout.
It should be noted that this method of crack repair can only stabilise the symptoms of cracked masonry walls. It will not cure the cause of the crack (e.g. subsidence). For this reason it is recommended that a structural engineer is consulted before undertaking crack repairs.
