Vulcan cable cleats are available for trefoil, single, quad and bundled cable applications where moderate levels of short circuit withstand are required. The unique Ellis Patents Vulcan compact design allows easy cable cleat installation where space is limited.
Vulcan cable cleats are manufactured in type 316 stainless steel offering ultimate protection against the harshest environmental conditions. To protect and cushion the cables during short circuit conditions, the cable cleat comes with an integral LSF Zero Halogen Polymeric liner and base pad.
Recommended fixing methods for Vulcan VRT+ include using one 10mm bolt for (sizes 00 to 09 ) and one or two 10mm bolts for (sizes 10 to 20).
Ellis Vulcan VRT+04 Cable Cleat Installation Steps : i) remove cable cleat base pad and bolt the cleat to the support structure using either central or 2 outer fixing positions ii) replace the cable cleat base pad and install cables iii) remove nut and washer, bend the two edges of the Vulcan cable cleat around the cables until parallel. Locate screw into adjacent hole iii) replace washer, nut and tighten iv) do not overtighten the cable cleat. The cleat liner should be in contact with the cable but does not need to be so tight that the cable bulges at either side of the liner.
