Unboxing and Reviewing an Old All Time Favorite that gets a lot of bad rap because NON-HOBBYIST failed to realize that Redcat Racing is trying to give you a lot for a low budget price so they cut out QoS and overlook a few manufacturing flaws.

Actually, this 10th Scaler of a Monster Truck is a beast, with its 64T Spur and 21T Pinion Gear. It’s durable and powerful to keep you thrilled for hours out of a day.

Every aftermarket brand name seems to support it, so getting upgrades and replacement parts isn’t a problem at all. The truck is designed very simple enough, you’ll just have to keep track of all the screws and where they belong because you have a lot of course and fine pitched thread screws to unscrew and screw back on when you go to assemble this BULLY of a Monster Truck.

You do need to inspect your Volcano thoroughly if and when you purchase it because it might have a few manufactures flaws.

    1) Mine came with a lot of screws loose (e.g. the 3mm flat head screws are to small for the holes they screw into) that’ll strip in the holes they’re used in. I suggest either using typical White Glue or Fingernail Polish on any of the screws that screw into plastic to hold them in place.

    2) I had leaking Diff Case and I had to replenish the fluid that was lost.

    3) Right Rear Adjustable Strut was Terribly Loose and I had to tighten up considerably.

    4) I had to re-tape the ESC down because the cheap tape that was used pulled apart on the first run.

    5) Right Front drive axle is bent so I know that in the near future I’ll be replacing all axles with CVD’s.

    6) The Center Drive Shaft Out-Drive Grub Screw backed out and jammed against the motor and caused the Front Wheels not to turn. I thought the front diff broke.

Other than that this truck is a Beast on 2S and I would hate to see what it can do on 3S. It probably would be insane to drive.

If I was to rate this truck I would give it a 3.5 Stars out of 5 just because it is NOT truly RTR. I had to first do some maintenance on it and it still broke on its Maiden Run.
