80/20 Inc: Anti-Vibration Mount Overview
Hello and welcome to 80/20’s product highlight series. Today we’re going to take a look at anti vibration mounts. These mounts are great for heavy-duty applications where little to no movement is desired. They come in a variety of sizes, are available in fractional and metric, and compatible across multiple profile series. When it comes to using these mounts, you’ll need a baseplate and a bolt assembly. If you’re mounting to the end of your profile, you’ll need an end tap in the end of your bar. More information on 80/20’s recommended bolt assemblies and machining services, can be found in the 80/20 product catalog.
Now for example we are going to install the Mighty Mount into the end of a profile. We’ve already got our baseplate on and tightened down. As you can see we’ve got a hole offset where we’re going to put the bolt through for the Mighty Mount. So we’ll just feed our bolt through, put a washer on, put our hex nut on. We’ll hand tighten that all the way down. Get our wrench and tighten that down the rest of the way. Now we’ll grab our mighty mount, and thread it right onto the thread of the bolt. And from there you have a nice heavy duty leveling foot. Now if you ever want to change the height in the future, you simply loosen the nut on the bottom and re adjust it as you need it. Now it’s also worth noting that 80/20 offers and economy anti-vibration mount, that comes in several sizes, pivots up to 20 degrees to accommodate for uneven floors.
Now hopefully you found this segment on anti-vibration mounts helpful. For more information please visit 80/20.net and be sure to subscribe to future 80/20 videos. And as always, make it a great day.
