Antique 19th Century pair of Austro-Hungarian Empire Solid Silver candlesticks, massive size (44.5 cm tall), extremely decorative design, the screw-in top of each stem is chased with a foliate decoration. The bases are applied with cast flowers and leaves surrounding domed vacant cartouches, the knopped stem is also applied with four cast angels. This is an exceptional, unusually large and magnificent pair. Only the bases are Hallmarked Austro-Hungarian silver (900 standard), Vienna, year 1880′s, Maker’s mark EG (unknown to me). One of the two tops presents “zig-zag” testing marks.
Condition
In Excellent condition – No damage, just general wear.
