How to install Schluter Ditra on plywood sub floor. It is important to use a very good quality polymer modified thinset to install the ditra on the sub floor. Dampen the plywood before applying thinset to the plywood, use the flat side of the trowel to “Key” the thinset to the plywood then use the notched side of a 11/64″ square notched trowel to comb the thinset ridges. Smooth the ditra into the thinset using a wooden or steel trowel.
