***Update*** – How to be even safer: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uPHkbZrw4aw

How to hang a treestand quickly, safely, and easily. Hanging my stand this way is the method that I have used for the past several years. The key thing is to use the paracord loops around the belt portion of your safety harness. This allows you to carry all 4 climbing sticks (and your stand) up the tree in one trip. If you also hook your bow or gun on a tote rope at the bottom and hook the other end to your harness, and put the rest of your gear in a fanny pack around the front of your waist, you’re completely finished getting set up. No pulling the stand up with a rope or making a second trip down for more gear.

This should work with any style of climbing stick similar to what I use here which is Lone Wolf. I’m sure it will work with Gorilla and Muddy. It won’t work with the large ladder style sticks, but maybe you can figure something else out for those.

Let me know if this tip helps you guys out, and share it with others. If you have any questions or comments please feel free to leave them below. Thanks!

As a side note, check out Stealth Outdoor’s stealth strips. I’m not affiliated with the company at all, but the owner is an awesome guy who believes in American made products and loves to hunt. They beat the heck out of the electrical tape and camo cloth tape I used to cover my sticks with, and I recommend them wholeheartedly!

This is a short and simple explanation of a double surgeon’s knot. I use it for very quick and moderately strong braided line to fluorocarbon leader connection.
