I will be testing this product in the field along with the alpha magnetic coaxial loop antenna and the zamp solar power pack as my qrp setup throughout the year. Make sure to bookmark this video and look for more up coming videos using this product and other products from this company.
NOTE: After I filmed the video I spoke with Mike from Portable Zero LLC about why I used the wings nuts in my video instead of the lock nuts that the company provides and that you will hear me talking about in the video. Here is Mike’s response….We intentionally chose lock nuts rather than wing nuts along with the fine pitch screw thread because once the lock nuts are properly tightened, they stay tight for months. Wing nuts are more likely to loosen up when the stand is tilted up and down. We designed the stand system so that once the lock nuts are tightened, there will always be some resistance on the stand so it takes a little pressure to tilt it up or down.
So as you see this is how the company has set it up. I chose to set it up the way I did which fits the way I will be operating. In the end you the viewer have the choice to use the way that best fits your needs.
