This video is to bring you a closer look at the Sealeze, and I’m happy to show this to you because it is uncommon and not a lot of people know about them and use them. The Sealeze C38090CLA06BLKP clear anodized astrasweep corner seal slotted with TEK screws. So, here is the question I get all the time. Pair of doors, do I run the astragals long all the way down to the bottom, or do I run the door sweeps all the way to the end? Inevitably there will be some part of the bottom portion of the meeting of the doors that will not be covered with weatherstripping. Sealeze to the rescue. When you buy one of these and CLA in the part number means clear anodized aluminum. You can also get this in the DUR finish which is the dark bronze. So, the concept with this is that you will run the matching astragal up the door and the matching door sweep across the width of the door. It includes two seals for C type door sweeps and astragals. So the C door sweeps are going to be those that will begin with the C in the part number from Sealeze. So, there is a link below this video to the installation instructions which give you steps on how to go about working with this material but the truth of the matter is that it is really unnecessary to do that because it is the same sort of concept as the other application of weatherstripping. Forgive me, not meaning that it is intended that you skip the instruction, meaning there is nothing specific about these. I like to when I install these to get them positioned on the door with one screw so that I can get them because it is really difficult to get them at a 90 degree angle and it is going to be a lot harder to make this up accurately to the astragal, but the truth of the matter is that you get it so it is sealed. Now, the reference to the other units that you would use with this, the crucial portion is that your bristle length and for that matter the bristle type and holder match together. That material is going to be the C, if you were going to type into the search box to find the constituent parts that will go along with this, you would start with C380 and from there, you are going to pull up a variety of items that will be from Sealeze as well that will show you the other sweeps and the other astragals. So the crucial part is knowing that you’ve got a 5/8″ bristle length and that is the 06 in the part number at the end. You’ve got a 3/4″ width on the holder and you are going to pull that out of the C380 portion. The 90 in this part number, the C38890, the 90 means there is a 90 degree corner and the CLA gives you the finish and the 06 gives you the length of the bristle which is 5/8″. These are the folks that will install drip caps for the tops of door frames because they know how inherently effective they are at sealing the opening. So not a lot of people know about these corner seals but they are incredibly effective. A couple of slotted screws there. I like to get myself set up with one so that I get it really in position; margin this corner down to where I need it to be etc. There is a description below this video clear anodized aluminum type 6 black nylon thermo brush to be used on wood or metal doors. Available not slotted and without screws as well should you need to apply this in some sort of application I suppose and you can indicate that in the comment field for us to ship it that way. There is an image below this video showing a typical installation where this is installed etc. Bristle is very effective at sealing a door and if you have an irregular sort of surface, say a concrete surface that the sweeps need to seal against, bristle is superior at sealing. If you had a smooth threshold, something like silicone or neoprene would certainly work, but when you get an irregular surface, only bristle can really tailor itself along the contours on a regular surface. If you did that with nylon, you would have an inherent weak point, not nylon, but with neoprene or silicone or a vinyl. You would have an inherent area where there is not a proper seal. So if you are doing a pair of doors with astragals and door sweeps, order these up immediately and once you install them, you will probably never look back and not install them.
