The past few months have been hectic and caused a small halt on the project, but I am happy to announce the return of progress! With that being said, the interior of the mustang has been finished by yours truly and I am moving onward to the engine. I have been contimplating for some time an engine overhaul due ti the simple fact that the motor does burn oil (smokey) it leaks from the rear main seal, the engine is not reliable, and it has some sort of a knock at idle when it is cold. All of these combinations are the perfect reason for an engine overhaul.
Today I began the process by removing the valve covers and intake manifold. I wanted to inspect for wear, dirt, etc. Upon closer inspection I can see the engine is quite dirty and sludgy. I am going to keep my parts very organized and label all of the bolts that come off of this motor. I m also going to photograph the process and document what I did.
