Learn about Kryptonite’s WheelBoltz and see a step by step guide on how they install on your bike. WheelBoltz are for hollow axles only and replace your wheel’s quick release. They are great to use for secondary security on your front and/or rear wheel.
When the bike is upright, the WheelBoltz are locked and can only be unlocked with the bike turned upside down. A primary U-Lock or chain prevents the bike from flipping when secure to a fixed object.
Easy to install/uninstall with 5mm hex wrench that is included.
Front wheel – 130mm
Rear Wheel – 150mm
I show how to disassemble and assemble a Shimano freehub body. I clean, lube and install new bearings into the freehub. I basically overhaul/rebuild the freehub. Generally, freehubs are not meant to be taken apart like this. The common thing is to just replace them, or to flush them and lube them like I do in this video:
This might be useful if you are having a hard time finding a replacement freehub body for your particular bike wheel. They are not too hard to take apart and overhaul. They might still have more life in them. And it’s kind of fun anyway.
Here is a video for how to make the freehub body disassembly tool I used in the video:
