Peeta & Katness worry about the mutated minions, while we show you how to convert the Axial AX90027: SCX-10 2012 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited Rubicon Builders Kit’s upper suspension links to a stronger 4-link set-up, with all aluminium links. Also using special link mount brackets from Level3-RC to improve clearances between the links and transmission (stops Y-link rubbing on front transmission shaft).
This second part covers the front upper links and an overall summary – See the first part of this episode for mounting the Level3-RC brackets and rear links.
Watch out for the next part of the build series where we cover the chassis mounted servo and ‘pan hard’ bar.

Fixing front links to ‘Center Link Mount’ on the front axle:

—- 2 x M3 nyloc nut from the Level3-RC set.
Fixing front links to chassis (just in front of center transmission):
—- 2 x M3x25mm screw from the Level3-RC set.
—- Right side spacers: 6.5mm: 1 x Axial AXA1414 2x6mm Spacer (Grey) + a 4.5mm (cut down the 9.5mm spacer from Level3-RC set).
—- Left side spacers: 11.5mm: 1 x Axial AXA1414 2x6mm Spacer (Grey) + 1 x spacer from Level3-RC set.
—- Black M3 nyloc nuts from your SCX10 kit.
Note that a new chassis fixing screw point is drilled on the left side approx. 8.2mm forwards of the standard hole – The screw for this fits inside the void of the rock bar mount. Because this hole is infront of the plastic mount for the transmission you need a longer spacer on the left than the right.

Alternatively you may prefer the Axial 4-Link set (but beware that this will have upper links that fix in the center of the axle, so clearance from transmission shafts may be an issue):

I show my way of making rolling snowblower shoes (skids) for a snowblower. I use sealed bearings as wheels for the front of the machine. The bearings I use are 1 3/4 in diameter, 1/2 in center hole and are 3/4 in over all width. 7508 DL made by General. Sold by Amazon. $14.54 each shipped with prime. Some people may have trouble with the Ariens auto turn feature, so this may be a way to help that condition out by reducing drag on the machine. The last minute of the video I show the machine in use clearing 6 inches of heavy snow. It runs perfectly! Enjoy and check out my other short videos.
