Replacing the sun roof on my 1996 P 38 Range Rover. Not a bad repair, just takes some time and organization. After thoughts: Total of 6 10mm bolts hold the roof in (mine had been replaced before so only had 4 bolts), Rear dome lights tend to be fragile so be careful removing, Handle clips need to be glued back in – they break easy -be very careful removing them so you can reuse them.
Only the front pillars need to be removed, the center and rear pillars can have the headliner ‘stretched’ over them so no need to remove them.
Good luck – not a difficult repair project! Make sure your replacement sunroof works before proceeding.
SET process: D/C battery for 1 minute. Reconnect and set each window by holding ‘down’ for 3 seconds, then raise and hold for 3 seconds. Sun roof UP for 3 seconds, then down and back for 3 seconds, and forward for 3 seconds. You will need to d/c battery for this step or the computer will not recognize the new sunroof.
