What to do when You shear off a bolt and need to drill it out, re tap and thread it. Worst case is the drill-bit breaks off and is stuck in bolt while trying to drill out the broken nut or bolt. If you break a tap while trying to re tap and die threads A SHARP (Its must be a sharpened Bit like the blue granite bits from Bosch) carbide Masonry drill Will remove the hardened steel.
