In this video I replaced the timing belt on a 2005 S60 T5 that had dual VVT hubs. I believe this process will work on all of the P2 Volvo’s which include the ones with the single VVT hubs. Some of the hubs will move because they are spring loaded. If that is the case, simply turn the cam in the proper position when installing the belt so the marks are aligned with the cover. You can use a front cam locking tool.

There is NO NEED to remove or loosen a hub unless you need to or are planning to replace a cam seal. In that case you will need to lock the rear of the cams with the cam locking tool and know how to properly reset the VVT hubs. This video DOES NOT show that process.
