Screaming value for money – We unbox and review adidas Football’s brand new Gloro 16.1 boot in the classic Black and White colourway.
The adidas Gloro poses as the epitome of a heritage-styled boot given modern-day styling, taking inspiration from its counterpart Copa Mundial however offering a product with a cheaper price-tag and a combination of natural and synthetic materials. With simplistic visuals showcasing as the forefront of design criteria, both the Gloro 16.1 and 15.1 pose as ideal football boots for the traditionalistic players of the game.
The 16.1 is adidas’ follow-up edition of the Gloro football boot which sees a total reconstruction and modernisation given to the modest priced yet good quality heritage boot. Essentially posing as a scaled down version of the long-serving Copa Mundial, the Gloro 16.1 takes inspiration from its counterpart however opts for a non-flap tongue for a streamlined silhouette and a newly designed sole plate made specifically for the Gloro 16.1 giving players versatility of use on both firm ground and 3G surfaces. Gloro means Glory in Esperanto and it’s available in four standard colour-ways however adidas have also offered customisation through their miadidas tool.
The Gloro 15.1 was adidas’ first version of modernising their Copa Mundial, featuring a combination of both leather and synthetic materials. The complete forefoot region of the boot uses super soft K-Leather with several lines of stitching for a super comfortable and customised fit around your toes. For a boot which is lighter, a breathable synthetic is applied from the midfoot to the heel. One major feature of this boot is the nostalgic fold-over tongue which incorporates an elasticated strap for a comfortable feel and fit on top of your foot. The sole plate has scrapped the mouldie studs seen on the Copa Mundial for a more modernised configuration of triangular studs which offer an equal distribution of stud pressure. This outsole was first seen on the adidas 11Pro football boot. The Gloro 15.1 is available in six different colour-way designs to match your club colours perfectly.
