Marubeni Citizen-Cincom debut many new models at #IMTS 2014 and #PMTS 2015. One of the most impressive and Industry defining technologies was shown in the BNE51-MSY. Making its debut at #IMTS2014 and again at PMTS2015, the Miyano BNE51-MSY takes turret Lathe technologies to the next level with innovative design and Miyano new Cincom Control technology. In short, the BNE51-MSY is turret lathe with sub spindle design characteristics and control technology that enables 3 tools in the cut at one time with a two turret machine. New BNE51-MSY design and control supports many features -like Multi Axis Super Imposition by G-code- typically found only in Swiss type machines.

The machine was a home run hit with –AE, Programmers and Operators- at the show who know both Swiss and Turret lathes programming and processing. Mitsubishi Materials provided tools shown in the demo. For the video, holes produced with the MVX drill were -drilled 1st with coolant and then re-filmed in proper machine sequence running dry.

‘Pañc hazar chakra kai andar’ or ‘Within Five Thousand Cycles’ is a piece for Yamaha Disklavier that attempts to explore the instrument within the context of John Cage inspired piano preparations (utilizing machine screws, flat mudguard and standard washers, plastic and brass olives, paper clips, cup head bolts, hex full nuts, white board and fold back clips), North Indian ‘Hindustani’ derived cyclic rhythmic patterns (juxtaposing two contrasting talas: Jhumra, 14/4 or 3 + 4 + 3 + 4 and Champak sawari, 11/4 or 4 + 4 + 1½ + 1½), analogue synthesis (including Arp 2600 LFO/Sine Wave filter sweeps, envelope filtering and Mu-tron Bi-Phasing), digital effects processing (ring modulation, distortion, 4-band eq, chorus, reverb, delay), studio generated harmonic resonance or ‘sympathetic vibrations’ and modern digital hard-disk recording technology.
