System:
CD1000DP – 1000ws capacitive discharge resistance welder
WH1125A – Opposed air actuated weld head
1/8″copper upper and lower electrodes (with flat tips)
1awg weld cables
Or
THP-A, pneumatic tweezer hand piece
The WH1125A is configured with 1/8″ copper electrodes in the upper and lower holders that have flat tips. 1awg weld cables are used and the spring force is set to 15lbs for the weld pictured. We chose to use a weld head instead of a hand-piece due to the ability to control the pressure being applied during the weld. Brass welds can be very pressure sensitive since any arcing can cause blow outs. The weld head can deliver consistent repeatable forces that are difficult to achieve by hand. We also offer a pneumatic tweezer hand piece (THP-P) that can provide the consistent high forces necessary.
The CD1000DP is set with Pulse 1 off, Pulse 2 at 1000ws, and Total Energy at 1000ws to perform the welds. These settings are able to lap weld the brass pieces firmly. A slightly smaller tip size could increase weld strength if desired.

In this video, we braze aluminum boat in an area that was previously patched with epoxy.
The seam that runs down this aluminum boat has separated and is leaking badly. https://MuggyWeld.com Super Alloy 5 rod and flux and an oxyacetylene torch makes easy work of the seam. YOU CANNOT USE PROPANE ON ALUMINUM BOATS, THE PARENT METAL WILL NOT GET HOT ENOUGH. YOU CANNOT USE SUPER ALLOY 1 ON ALUMINUM BOATS, IT IS NOT STRONG ENOUGH
Super Alloy 5 works great on a number of common problems that occur to aluminum boats such as cracks, splits, holes, thinly worn areas caused by dragging on rocks and gravel.
Super Alloy 5 will also work on aluminum pontoon boats, airboats, canoes, rafts, props and yes even your cast aluminum outboard motors The flux will eliminate contaminates in the cast (TIG and MIG welding usually fall short in this area)
Super Alloy 5 can be polished after making the repair.
