Connex is a relaxing chair made from one continous steel tube with two connectors on both ends. The aesthetic of Connex was inspired by circuit boards, which follow specific rules in the way they are designed such as certain agles (0°,45° and 90°) and parallelity.
The structure of the chair is open at the back and only once someone sits in it the two open ends (hemispheres) connect and close the shape. The user becomes part of the structure of the chair.
Panel discussion during a day-long symposium in celebration of the 50th anniversary of the Black Arts Movement and the 20th anniversary of the literary organization Cave Canem.
