LEVELING LIFTKIT INSTALLATION STEPS
Before beginning, we always recommend having your lift kit installed at a shop to ensure proper fitment and getting an alignment done within 300 miles of installation. If you have any questions, please contact one of our ASE Certified Techs at 1-888-810-6791!
Step 1: Raise vehicle and support frame with jack stands, and then, remove wheels to gain access to the suspension.
Step 2: Unbolt the nut for the sway bar end-link, then take out the sway bar end-link.
Step 3: Unbolt brackets for the ABS line and brake line from the upper control arm.
Step 4: Support lower control arm with a floor jack. Start out by unbolting the nut holding the tie-rod to the knuckle, then loosen the nut holding the upper ball joint to the knuckle.
Step 5: Strike the side of the knuckle where the upper ball joint and tie-rod are with a hammer. The upper ball joint and tie-rod will separate from the knuckle.
Step 6: Remove tie-rod and upper ball joint from knuckle.
Step 7: Remove the 3 nuts holding the strut assembly to the frame/house.
Step 8: Using a 15mm socket, unbolt the two bolts holding the strut to the lower control arm. The head of the bolts are on the underside of the lower control arm.
Step 9: Slowly remove the floor jack from the lower control arm and remove strut from the vehicle.
Step 10: Screw the Allen Head screws into the spacer. The threaded portion will come out of the spacer and the head of the screws will be inside the spacer.
NOTE: Supreme Suspensions recommends using Loctite when installing to ensure tightness after install.
Step 11: Carefully grind or trim the factory studs down until the studs are below the top surface of the spacer.
Step 12: Set the spacer on top of the strut assembly and bolt the spacer to the strut using the nuts.
Step 13: Rotate strut assembly by turning it 180 degrees so that the holes on the upper coil bucket line-up with the 3 studs coming out of the spacer. Use the floor jack and raise the lower arm slightly so that the lower part of the strut can be bolted to the lower control arm using the factory bolts.
Step 14: Bolt the 3 nuts to the strut assembly.
Step 15: Lower the floor jack then place floor jack under the knuckle. Hold the bracket for the ABS line so that it’s on the right side before the next step.
Step 16: Raise the floor jack while supporting the knuckle until you are able to partially reinsert the threaded portion of the upper ball joint into the hole on the top of the knuckle.
Step 17: Insert pry bar into the coil spring and pry down on the lower control arm until the upper ball joint can be bolted to the knuckle.
Step 18: Using a wrench and a plier, tighten the nut for the upper ball joint.
Step 19: Now you can reconnect the tie-rod, ABS brackets, brake line bracket and sway bar end-links.
Step 20: Finally, reinstall the wheels and lower the vehicle back to the ground.
Please remember to double-check all fittings for tightness before operating the vehicle.
