https://www.ultralightnews.com — The Maxair Hummer is a single seat, high wing, wire braced, taildragger. The single cylinder Zenoah 22hp with it’s belt reduction drive engine is mounted behind the wing on the upper root tube and is movable back and forth to provide the proper C of G for heavier pilots.

The Hummer uses bolt and rivet together aluminum construction with everything coming off it’s main boom tube. It has a spring type suspension system on the main wheels, and tail wheel. The double surfaced wings and tail section are covered in dacron sailcloth.

The Hummer is a two axis control aircraft using an V tail with ruddervators. All of the controls for elevator, and rudder are operated from the stick through a very unique “mixer.

The Hummer won Best Workmanship at the EAA Fly-in in 1978, and was marketed as plans and in kit form by Maxair after Hill’s death.
