    Washer/Spacer Suppressors

These types of suppressors utilize a baffle system that looks mostly like a washer from a bolt and a spacer made out of tubing between each one. These shave off the explosive high velocity gasses a little at a time. These suppressors are made very cheaply and can be repaired in a matter of minutes. The tubing or case is very rarely damaged. It is most likely the internals and they are easily fixed.

Some types of these suppressors have the washer and baffle made together in a form of cup. This cup does the same thing as the washers. Shave off the explosive gasses.

Hey guys! I’m back to share another last minute DIY gift–and yes this can definitely be a last minute gift! No mall shopping required!

If you have someone in your life who’s on the DIY-side themselves, they’ll get a kick out of this nuts and bolts chess set (and if they don’t play chess, maybe it will inspire them to learn)!

    Things you’ll need:

    (From Home Depot)
    Nuts & bolts (see below)
Tiles (I used a 10×10, cut down to an 8×8)
Spray paint (I used a hammered gold, and a hammered black)
    Stain
    Gorilla Glue or Gorilla Epoxy

    (From Michael’s)
    Unfinished cigar box
    Felt
    Hot glue
    Foam brushes

    Chess pieces:
**To keep things easy, I used all quarter-inch nuts and bolts. The brand I used was Everbilt.**

Pawns (16 each) – 3/4-inch Phillips flat-head screw (body), 1/4-inch hex nut (skirt), cap nuts (top)

    Knights (4 each) – 1 1/4-inch Phillips flat-head screw (body), (2) 1/4-inch hex nuts (top)

Bishops (4 each) – 2-inch eye bolts (body), 1/4-inch washers (skirt), 1/4-inch hex nut (base)

    Rooks (4 each) – 1 1/2-inch Phillips flat-head screw (body), 1/4-inch wing nut (arm), 1/4-inch hex nut + 1/4-inch washer + 1/4 square nut (top)

    Queens (2 each) – 2-inch Phillips flat-head screw, 1/4-inch washer + 1/4-inch hex nut + 1/4-inch washer (skirt), 1/4-inch wing nut (arm), 1/4-inch castle nut (top)

    Kings (2 each) – 2 1/2-inch Phillips flat-head screw, 1/4-inch hex nut + 1/4-inch washer (skirt), 1/4-inch hex nut + 1/4-inch washer + 1/4-inch hex nut (mid-section), 1/4-inch wing nut (arm), 1/4-inch castle nut (top)
