I should mention… when reversing the steps, to secure the spare wheel back under the car, be careful to check the cage afterwards, to ensure you can’t lift it off the hook. The screw must be appropriately tightened in the boot to ensure the hook is secure, otherwise there is a risk of the cage jumping off the hook while you are driving along.
