Nokia 3310 which was a power workhouse and known for its durability, is back in a newer, more colourful form factor.
The new 3310 has a couple of modern features not on the original – you can listen to music and take pictures with the 2MP camera.
The new feature phone includes bigger colour screen, rear camera and updated design. There is also a month-long battery life and refreshed version of the classic snake game.
Design
This phone sticks with the candy bar design of the earlier Nokia 3310 and has 2.4” QVGA display. It looks fresher and slicker than its predecessor, with its enlarged, 2.4-inch 320 x 240 colour screen and significantly slimmer frame.
The new model is 12.8mm thick and weighs 79.6g, as opposed to 22mm and 133g.
Nokia has altered the phone’s main keys too. The large blue button has been ditched, along with the ‘C’ and arrows buttons.
It is available in glossy red and yellow colour options as well as the familiar grey and dark blue matte schemes.
Camera
Around the back is 2-megapixel camera capable of capturing grainy shots, as well as an LED flash that can be used as a torch.
Battery Life
It has battery standby for up to a month, and comes with a removable 1200 mAh battery with maximum talk time of up to 22.1 hours. It has a maximum MP3 playback time of up to 51 hours and maximum FM radio playback time of up to 39 hours. Battery is still a highlight of the feature phone market.
Other specifications of the new Nokia 3310 include 16 MB total memory space, a microSD card slot with support for up to 32 GB. It supports 2G and the bands supports are GSM 900/1800 MHz. The Nokia 3310 runs the Nokia Series 30+ OS.
It has 3.5 mm audio connector slot, FM support and in-built MP3 player. This phone has Micro USB (USB 2.0) for connectivity as well as Bluetooth 3.0.

Before you can use your phone, you need to insert a SIM card in it and then install and charge the Battery.
Inserting a SIM Card :
The phone can only be used with a valid miniature plug-in SIM card. You can obtain the card from your network operator or service provider.
1) Remove Back Cover : Press the locking catch, slide the cover and lift the cover.
2) Remove Battery : Push the two release catches in the opposite directions and remove the battery.
3) Insert the SIM card : Slide the SIM card carefully into the SIM card slot. Make sure that the golden connectors on the card are facing downwards and that the bevelled corner is on the left.
4) Install Battery : Align the golden connectors on the battery with the corresponding connectors on the phone and push the opposite end of the battery until it snaps into place.
5) Replace Back Cover : Insert the two catches of the back cover in the corresponding slots in the phone and slide the cover towards the bottom of the phone until it locks into place.
Our Review : This phone is perfect for group of people as its simple and has great battery life. I would find it a great backup phone.
Note :
1) The SIM card and its contacts can easily be damaged by scratches or bending, so be careful when handling, inserting or removing the card.
2) Before installing the SIM card, always make sure that the phone is switched off and then remove the battery.
3) The Nokia 3310 has the Opera web browser which lets you visit mobile versions of websites such as Facebook.
4) If the battery is totally run down, it may take up to a few minutes before the charging indicator is shown.
Consideration :
1) The new 3310 does not match up to today’s high-tech smartphones but it have that famous battery life as it leaving out all the features that drain power like Wi-Fi, 4G and touch screen.
2) The S30+ operating system of Nokia 3310 does not support apps like WhatsApp.
3) The SIM card slot on the back of the 3310 is designed for the micro SIM format which is bigger than the nano SIMs used in most smartphones nowadays.
4) There is almost no internal storage (Only 16 Mb) on the phone so you have to put extra microSD card for photos or music.
5) The original 3310 had a 900mAh battery. After 17 years, new Nokia 3310 has only 1200mAh battery.
6) The Nokia 3310 would not let users load apps separately.
7) It does not have any type of GPS.
