This video is to bring you a closer look at the Bradley 9334 towel ring. It is in a satin stainless steel finish as you can see. It’s a traditional towel ring, something that you’re going to see in motel/hotel rooms, probably not middle of the road sort of applications commercial sort of applications like that. Inexpensive towel ring, it’s all stainless steel in a satin finish, there’s a magnet and there’s nothing there. There is a link below this video to the technical data which is really nothing other than link to a product brochure which shows this and its sister related products but then also a link to the instructions and the instructions are very straight forward, you know they give you dimensions of the unit, we’ll go over that stuff now, we’re not going to go over all the points but the assecution pad itself is very typical in that it is 2″ by 2″, its projection is 2-3/8. They give an overall height of the ring itself at 4-3/8, and this is coming in, looks like to me it’s coming in at 4-1/4 with an overall width of 4-7/8, just under 5″, yeah may be the case. The mounting of this is a very typical sort of situation where you’ve got a wall clip and that is held in with that slotted set screw that’s there so if you get a small screw driver and remove that out that wall clip is going to come out. You’re going to attach that to a wall and keep in mind the requirements for ADA compliance, your mount and height. Be sure to review that early before you go attaching this, you don’t want to attach them in the incorrect location. There are actually two screws that are included which is nice. So, once you get the wall bracket attached to the wall those two little fingers there at the top their going to hook into the shoulders of the “T” assembly that you see there, just like that, and once they hook in its secured to the wall even without tightening that set screw. And once you go about tightening the set screw your installation at that point is going to all but complete. Good quality item by Bradley, Bradley is a full line manufacturer of all things commercial restroom related and after you tighten that it’s nice and tight, it’s a good deal. That ring does not come out because of the slotted sort of application that they’ve got there with a couple of wings that are milled into the back of the bracket, and if you watched what I did there, the only way you can get that ring off of there is by rotating it this way, and once it’s installed it will never get that, it’s vandal resistant at that point. Good quality company, Bradley. Their material is of good fit and finish, sometimes they’re a bit long because a lot of what they sell, I think, is made to order combined with a minimum order policy but good quality company, it’s a pleasure being a representative for them. The Newcaflex VHAM Tower, commissioned by Brastec Technologies for Technip/DUCO is currently being erected in New Castle, UK. It is an engineering feat, that during operation, requires an un-opposed cantilever design nearly 165′ tall and is scheduled to be in production Fall 2013. The tower consists of 10 levels, each with unique requirements; from dynamic vibration of packaging machinery, to the large vertical force of the pulling mechanisms which draws the raw material up through the tower, to welding machinery and appurtenances needed to sustain the product during production and finally the weight of the machinery and equipment itself, with 2 pieces weighing over 50T. The product is pulled up through the center of the tower initially by a 15T winch located above the 10th level and during production by large moving clamps on the 7th and 8th levels. Lower levels add value to the product through welding, clamping and wrapping. Once above the 10th level, the product is diverted around one of the arches thru a series of rollers and then back down to the out rigged safety tubes and eventually to the ground where it is stored in large magazines. Due to the large caliber of forces within the structure, size, scope and complexity of the project, the use of Tekla enabled this project to be successful. The Tekla BIM software allowed Steele Solutions to collaborate with our peers around the globe in order to share ideas, concepts and designs. Allowing all partners to proceed with their design, mitigate clashes and refine the final product.

The stakeholders within the project were global. Brastec Technologies, a Brazilian based company with offices in Canada and the UK, along with DUCO a UK based company which was later acquired by Technip, a French based company. The various time zones as well as language barriers presented unique challenges that Tekla enabled us to overcome.

The model allowed us to present concept, images and design data in a universal format that we could share through BIMSight or import easily into their native design software.
